An intergenerational stone and glass carving studio founded by my parents, Tom and Judy Bates. For more than 40 years our artworks have been going out into the world, in both public and private settings. Artwork rendered in stone has continued to be my primary occupation (and preoccupation) for 24 years and counting.

Shaped in some of nature’s most durable materials, many of our carvings will last for millennia and become ancient artifacts that speak to future generations about timeless realities. Lasting artwork did not end with any previous generation, it is a living tradition.

All of our carving is done with hand-held rotary and pneumatic abrasive tools.

All of our design work is done by humans (us) using pencils.
